The Senior Engineer- Sales acts as a critical bridge between the sales, product, and technical teams. This role combines deep technical expertise with exceptional communication and customer engagement skills to understand client needs, design tailored solutions and drive successful deal closures.

This role involves understanding client requirements, proposing the right technical solutions, and leading the entire sales cycle from lead generation to order closure — ensuring alignment between customer needs and our manufacturing capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and Develop New Business Opportunities across utilities, EPCs, OEMs, and industrial customers for power and distribution transformers.
  • Engage with Clients to Understand Technical & Commercial Requirements, interpret tender specifications, and recommend optimal transformer solutions.
  • Prepare and Present Technical Proposals, Quotations, and Tender Documents in coordination with design and production teams.
  • Collaborate with Internal Teams (Design, R&D, Production, Quality, and Dispatch) to ensure proposed solutions are technically feasible and aligned with delivery timelines.
  • Lead Technical Discussions and Product Demonstrations with customers, consultants, and auditors during bidding and order finalization.
  • Negotiate Pricing, Delivery, and Contract Terms to ensure commercially viable and profitable deals.
  • Build and Maintain Strong Customer Relationships, ensuring satisfaction, repeat business, and referrals through regular engagement and support.
  • Track Market Trends, Competitor Offerings, and Pricing, and provide insights to guide business strategy and product development.
  • Maintain Accurate Sales Forecasts and Reports through CRM/ERP tools, contributing to business planning and revenue projections.

Must Have

  • B.E. / B. Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (Diploma holders with strong experience may be considered).
  • 4 to 7 years of total experience in sales, business development, or techno-commercial roles
  • Willingness to travel extensively for client visits, site discussions, and industry events.

Nice to have

  • Understanding of sales forecasting, margins, costing, and contract management.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint), CRM tools, and ERP systems for proposal and order tracking.
  • Exposure to Social Media Marketing
