Senior Engineer- Production

The Senior Production Engineer will play a critical role in establishing and optimizing the company’s manufacturing processes for high-efficiency electrical machines. This role combines hands-on engineering, process design, and leadership responsibilities to ensure that prototypes transition smoothly into scalable, high-quality, and cost-effective production — in alignment with our sustainability and energy-efficiency goals.

Responsibilities

  • Establish, validate, and continuously improve manufacturing and assembly processes for electrical machines
  • Develop SOPs, work instructions, and control plans for winding, assembly, impregnation, testing, and mass production readiness.
  • Optimize plant layout, tooling, material flow, and process efficiency using Lean Manufacturing (5S, Kaizen, VSM).
  • Monitor production KPIs such as OEE, yield, scrap, energy usage and drive data-backed efficiency improvements.
  • Troubleshoot process issues with close coordination across Design, Quality, and Maintenance teams.
  • Conduct RCA (8D, Fishbone, Pareto) and implement preventive / corrective actions for recurring issues.
  • Participate in DFM/DFA/FMEA reviews to ensure design manufacturability and cost/production feasibility.
  • Lead and guide technicians/operators, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and productivity norms.
  • Train shop-floor teams on SOPs, quality discipline, automation handling, and continuous improvement culture.
  • Drive sustainability, energy efficiency, and waste reduction initiatives aligned with company vision.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and other environmental & statutory requirements.

Must Have

  • B.E. / B. Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering
  • 3-7 years of experience in production engineering or manufacturing setup, preferably in Electrical machines, Electromechanical assemblies or precision manufacturing
  • Experienced in Manufacturing process design and optimization
  • Familiarity with winding, impregnation, balancing, and assembly processes
  • Knowledge of lean, TPM, and Six Sigma practices
  • Hands-on experience with ERP/MRP systems and process documentation
  • Proficiency in MS Office and manufacturing planning tools
